Doha residents and visitors looking for some light-hearted entertainment over Eid can look forward to the third summer edition of Doha Comedy Festival (DCF). Having entertained more than 12,000 comedy fans over the past few years, DCF returns this summer for an evening full of laughter on Sunday, 3 September with a special line-up of five international comedians.

Tickets for the event taking place at Qatar National Convention Centre, are going fast with a limited number of tickets still selling in the Silver (QAR45) and Gold (QAR99) categories. They are available at all branches of Virgin Megastores in Qatar and can be purchased online through the store’s website.

This DCF marks the first time Qatar hosts Vir Das, India’s most popular English speaking comedian and Mo Amer, the pioneer Arab-American comedian who has cemented his position as an original voice in comedy. They are joined by Maz Jobrani; ‘Lebanon’s King of Comedy, Nemr and the Qatari favourite, Hamad Al Amari.

Coming armed with bags full of laughter and entertainment, all of the artists have expressed their excitement over performing in front of Qatar’s culturally diverse audience and plan to make it an evening to remember.

Iranian-American founding member of ‘Axis of Evil’, Jobrani said, “As someone who has visited Qatar and other countries in the Middle East since 2007, I am truly impressed with the acceptance and growth of standup comedy; it seems to have a bright future in the region.”

Hamzeh Zahr, Managing Director, The Social Studio, also added, “We are proud to organize the third summer edition of DCF, which has grown as the region’s biggest comedy festival in a short span of time. We are sure that the audience will enjoy the event and appreciate the efforts that have gone into bringing top comedians from all corners of the world. The trust vested in us by QTA and the community is truly humbling and we will continue to offer the best and most diverse entertainment to Qatar’s audiences in times to come.”

The concert comes as part of the Qatar Summer Festival’s (QSF) lively entertainment offerings and is being supported by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) as part of its strategy to support and engage local businesses in the tourism sector.
