The Social Studio announced that tickets for the summer edition of Doha Comedy Festival (DCF) are now on sale. Taking place on September 3rd, the event is set to bring together five internationally-renowned stand-up comedians on one stage at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) as part of Qatar Summer Festival 2017’s lively entertainment schedule.

Organised and produced by The Social Studio, and supported by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), as part of its support for Qatari businesses.

Mashal Shahbik, Director of Tourism Festivals and Events at QTA said, “The past editions of Doha Comedy Festival proved to be very popular among our audiences, especially during the inaugural edition of Shop Qatar earlier this year. Given that this year’s lineup includes some outstanding comedians, we are sure that the show will be a success.”

She added, “Throughout this edition of QSF, we have tried to develop events and promotions that appeal to all members of the family and enriches their experience in Qatar, these include shopping discounts, accommodation promotions, and live shows, in addition to the Entertainment City.”

The summer edition of DCF comes as a follow up to the winter edition that cemented its position as a leader in the stand-up comedy scene by hosting world-renowned comedians in Doha. The collaboration with The Social Studio has produced three comedy festivals, each with its own flavor, with the biggest edition hosting Trevor Noah, the host of ‘The Daily Show’ and the British ventriloquist Paul Zerdin.

Hamzeh Zahr, Managing Director of The Social Studio, commented saying, “We are thrilled that Doha has become a key player in the region to this kind of art which reflects the local cultural openness. We are also happy to see an interest from the public sector, represented by the QTA, to support Qatari startup companies with an aim to create local success stories that can represent Qatar in the entertainment industry. Cementing this, is the fact that Doha Comedy Festival has hosted close to 50 local, Arab and international comedians; and attracted an audience of more than 12,000 over the past few years.”
