The iconic landmark of Doha, an epitome for Arabic Hospitality was painted in pink on 28th and 31st October 2017 to celebrate the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The ‘Go Pink™’ charity campaign started on the 28th October with a therapeutic Yoga session by Vishnu from Swasthi Yoga® followed by Spinning® led by Katharine Blessin in the tranquil setting of the lush green resort garden area of Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel. The Grand finale of this charitable event on 31st started with Doha Sport Company’s Les Mills® class led by Marwa and ended in style with a non-stop Zumbathon, coordinated by a team of Zumba® experts led by Imad Askar.

The event received an overwhelming response with over 300 people participating. Full proceeds from the event were donated to Qatar Cancer Society which will be used to support women who cannot afford to receive life-saving diagnostic breast cancer care.

“We are delighted to partner with Qatar Cancer Society, Swasthi Yoga, Les Mills, Zumba Fitness, Spinning and a special thanks to our Sponsors Doha Sports Company, Mideco Construction & Trading, Al Majed Jewelry, Salam Mall, Diva Lounge, Skin & Soul, Acon Printing and Creative Party for supporting us in this collaboration which opens doors to better serve those in need within our own community.” said Mr. Medhat Hassanin, Director of Sheraton Fitness. “We were not only successful in spreading awareness in the community but we also succeeded in raising QR 100,730 this year.”

The event reiterates Sheraton Grand Doha's commitment to support fitness initiatives that aim to transform Qatar into a healthy and cancer free society. The special event was dedicated to learning, sharing and communicating with the community to reinforce the message that breast cancer is curable, if detected and diagnosed early, and highlight the importance of a healthy lifestyle for overall well-being.
