Scorching conditions will continue in the country today, especially in the southern and central areas where the mercury level is expected to reach 48C or higher, the Qatar Met Department has said.
It will be relatively less hot along coastal areas due to the prevalence of sea breeze, with the mercury level hovering in the upper-30C level, according to the weather’s office Twitter page.
The highest temperature yesterday was 47C, recorded in the Qatar University and Doha airport areas, Al Rayyan, Al Khor and Turayna, followed by 46C in Sheehaniya and Batna.
Today Al Khor is expected to see a maximum temperature of 45C while it will be 44C in Doha.
Besides a hot day, the forecast for inshore areas today says slight dust is expected at times and it will be relatively humid and hazy in some places by night. (Source)
