More than 40 people were killed and over 230 injured in the attack.

Qatar “strongly condemned” the attack, with HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani sending a cable to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to offer condolences for the victims, reported QNA.

HH expressed strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack, stressing Qatar's solidarity with Turkey and support for its efforts to maintain its security and stability in the face of terrorism.

Turkey's Istanbul Ataturk Airport is one of the busiest airports in Europe. On Tuesday night, three attackers with firearms and explosives arrived at the airport in a taxi and opened fire before blowing themselves up.

Turkish police later arrested 13 people in connection with the attack, officials said, noting that the co-ordinated assault bore the hallmarks of ISIS, but there has been no official claim of responsibility.
