Private Qatari collector to exhibit at the Museum of Islamic Art

Qatari collector Fadel Al Mansoori will display his impressive Islamic arms and armour collection at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) opening this month and on view until May 2018.


Held under the leadership of Qatar Museums’ Chairperson, HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the exhibition, titled Powder and Damask: Islamic Arms and Armour from the Collection of Fadel Al Mansoori, presents edged weapons and firearms crafted primarily in Turkey, Iran and India from the 17th to the mid-19th century. The exhibition was curated by MIA curatorial team, Dr. Mounia Chekhab Abudaya and Julia Tugwell.
