Ooredoo, Qatar Cancer Society and KidzMondo Team to Raise Breast Cancer Awareness

Ooredoo, Qatar Cancer Society, and KidzMondo, have teamed up to host a special breast cancer awareness event this weekend from October 13-14.

The event, which will be held at KidzMondo in Mall Of Qatar from 3 pm to 6 pm, will include special activities for children to help educate them on the importance of breast cancer awareness, as well as create crafts for their parents.

To encourage a healthy lifestyle for all participants, Qatar Cancer Society will also organise a ‘pink walk’ for the children around KidzMondo.

Talking about the event, Manar Khalifa al-Muraikhi, Ooredoo Director of PR and Corporate Communications, said: “We’re proud to be teaming with two organisations in Qatar to create awareness on this important issue, not just for children, but for parents as well. We encourage everyone with kids to come on down this weekend, to join in the fun and educate themselves and their families on the lifesaving services available in Qatar.”

Ooredoo has a history of working with the Qatar Cancer Society to help raise awareness on the disease in Qatar, and together the organisations opened a state-of-the-art cancer awareness centre as part of an agreement worth QR 30 Million.

The Ooredoo Cancer Awareness Centre is a first-of-its-kind facility in the Middle East, and is playing an important role in the national strategy for cancer and encouraging a healthy lifestyle for all, which is a cornerstone of the Qatar National Vision 2030.

Ooredoo is also a long-term partner of KidzMondo, the interactive learning experience for children with an indoor ‘edutainment’ theme park.

As part of its support for KidzMondo, Ooredoo has a dedicated ‘Ooredoo Zone’ in the park, which shows children how a nationwide network of towers and cables helps them to connect to the world using their smartphone, and showcases the interesting daily work of Ooredoo engineers in supporting the Ooredoo Supernet.
