The Government Communications Office of Qatar issued a statement yesterday, highlighting the importance of staying true to our values and not insulting people, countries, leaders or spreading abuses over means of communication.

The statement quotes the following verse from the Holy Qur'an:

"Dost thou not see how Allah sets forth the similitude of a good word? It is like a good tree, whose root is firm and whose branches reach into heaven." (Ibrahim, Verse 24)

This comes as a fresh change to the multitude of negative comments and insults the Internet has been seeing lately with regard to the crisis between Qatar and other countries. It is also an encouragement to the people of Qatar, knowing that the government supports the people and their positivity and that we should stick by the values that the country stands on, as opposed to placing restrictions on the people and what they have to say.
