Nando's Celebrates the Opening of it's Sevent Restaurant

Nando’s Qatar, one of the nation’s best-loved family restaurants, celebrated the opening of its 7th Restaurant at the Gulf Mall.

The new and trendy restaurant was launched with an official opening ceremony in the honored presence of H.E. Saad Cachalia, Ambassador of South Africa to Qatar, Oryx Group for Food Services Board of Directors along with VIP guests.

Situated on Level One in Doha’s newest shopping destination, The Gulf Mall, the new Nando’s represents the latest expansion of the restaurant chain in Qatar, featuring a total of 135 seats with an outdoor terrace turned into a lush and inviting garden setting for customers to enjoy their meal.

On this occasion, Mr. Francois Rousseau, COO -Oryx Group for Food Services, said:“We are very excited to announce the opening of our 7th restaurant. Operating in a vibrant and quality driven market such as Qatar is a great challenge. Since we launched in Qatar in 2001, Nando’s has grown into one of the most popular casual dining outlets. The new restaurant boasts the genuine Nando’s flavour and feel, filled with authentic African-Portuguese heritage. Unique artworks are displayed throughout the restaurant, natural grain patterns of clay-works applied to the walls lends another raw yet creative play on textures.

Design has been a key element of Nando’s success on both levels; local and international. The 7th addition to Nando’s chain in Qatar features bespoke lighting that creates a relaxed and cozy atmosphere; the custom hand blown lights, resembling DNA molecules stretch from the entrance ceiling throughout the whole restaurant, creating a feature that guides guests through the entire space while filling up the restaurant with soft and beautiful glow.

Nando’s philosophy regarding the use of natural materials within their stores is reinforced with the large woven bamboo pendant lights placed above all the round tables to create focus points within the restaurant.

As the makers of the world renowned signature flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken, Nando’s secret lies in the uniquely butterfly-cut chicken, marinated for 24 hours and flame-grilled to perfection.
