A strategically situated theme park and bazaar, overlooking Doha’s skyline and seafront, the Magical Festival Village (MFV), located in Katara Cultural Village, is a great place for families, friends, and kids.

For a fun day or evening out, MFV provides an array of different fun activities and dining options for its visitors. The venue is fashioned in the style of a vintage village. At night, it resembles London’s infamous Winter Wonderland, beautifully lit up and setting up a very exciting atmosphere for people as they enter the venue. The embellishment at MFV is also very colorful, with different sections displaying beautiful flower lanterns, vibrant lamp shades, ornate bird cages, and multicolored lights.

There are a multitude of entertainment options, from thrilling rides and carousels, to carnival games and indoor arcades that have virtual reality activities. There are also live shows for children in MFV’s giant red and white circus tent, such as The Wizard of Oz, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, and more. They are also currently constructing a ferris wheel, which is a first for Doha, and is bound to have a breathtaking view of Katara’s waterfront and the signature Qatari skyline.

Visitors who are interested in shopping can browse through the different retail stores, which range from fashion and beauty to mobile accessories, decoration, appliances, as well as food products (like honey, spices, and herbs) that are imported from around the region. There are also fashion outlets for men, women, and children in little stores around MFV called “The Village,” that showcase brands such as Zara, as well as other brands imported from outside the Middle East.

The central area of MFV is dedicated to food and dining. The restaurants and different vendors are situated around a water fountain that’s located right in the middle of the venue. Each vendor has their own seating area, which overlooks the fountain and other parts of MFV.

Dining options include Firefly Burger, Elevation Burger, Mini’s Pancakes, Nişantaşı Başköşe, Al Aker Sweets, and a number of local startups that are debuting their restaurants for the first time. Dodda’s The Sweet Roll Factory, originally from the United States, is a great place to get delicious mini pancakes with ice cream rolls and other toppings.

MFV also highlights a number of local startup Qatari businesses and offers them a great opportunity to get exposure from, as well as interact with, expats and foreigners. Overall, MFV is definitely worth a visit as it bridges the community and encourages people to learn more about Doha’s culture, which is what ILQ is all about!

Head over to MFV today! It’s on till April 30th, 2017 and opens everyday at 2:00 pm and closes at 10:00 pm
