Jaidah Automotive announces the winners of the third and final edition of ‘SeeMyDoha’ photography competition

Jaidah Automotive, Chevrolet’s exclusive dealer in Qatar, and the official organizer of the ‘SeeMyDoha’ photography competition announced the winners of the third and final edition of the competition at an award ceremony held at Art 29 in the W Doha in an exhibition showcasing all nominated pictures and will run until the 18th of October.

Mr. Mohamad Jaidah, Group Executive Director of Jaidah Group attended the event, as well as representatives from Jaidah Automotive.

The ‘SeeMyDoha’ photography competition is an offshoot of ‘SeeMyCity’ and has been adopted by Jaidah Automotive as the way forward to its annual photography contest. The competition uses camera-enabled smartphones and the social media platform Instagram, and started in October 2016. The competition has gained popularity since its foundation in Qatar 2013-2014, and quickly became one of the most anticipated events of the year for photography enthusiasts in Doha.

The competition’s aim is to portray Doha in a new and inspirational way, reflecting people’s unique experiences. This year’s finalist and two runner ups were chosen by panel of expert judges. The winner, Richard Limbo winner received a two-night trip to Oman for two people in a five-star hotel that was presented to him by Mohamed Jaidah, Group Executive Director of Jaidah Group, and Marianne Hope, Founder of SeeMyCity. The second runner up Haya Al Thani, and the third runner up, Iman Heaphy were each awarded a cash voucher of 5,000 QAR at the ceremony.

“We are very pleased with the amount of entries we received in this years’ competition from Qatari nationals and expats alike, and delighted to see a record number of remarkable images portraying Doha in an outstanding light for the world to see,” said Mohamad Jaidah, Group Executive Director of Jaidah Group. “This year marks our final competition, I would like to thank Marianne Hope and SeeMyCity for helping in making this competition a success since its inception in 2013. We hope to continue organizing events that reflect our continuous commitment to provide meaningful social contributions to this wonderful country and our beloved city. ” 

The exhibition held at Art 29 showcased 12 photos from this year’s competition including the winning photos, five photos have been chosen from entrants and displayed as photo of the day, as well as the winners from the previous SeeMyDoha competition in 2015 and 2014 and select Jury photos.
