The Dinner in the Sky Zone, sponsored by Qatar Airways (QA), will be “one of the essential signature” activities at the sixth edition of the Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) 2015.
At a joint press conference held yesterday at the Museum of Islamic Art, QA’s Marketing and Corporate Communications senior vice president Salam al-Shawa said the activity will offer ‘A Taste of Business Class’ to give guests and visitors the opportunity to experience the airline’s five-star Business Class service.
Prior to the actual dining, guests will be served mouth-watering appetisers prepared by QA’s celebrity chefs in the ‘Business Class lounge’. Chef Vineet Bhatia will prepare mushroom and rice fritters with mild chili and garlic sauce while Chef Nobu will prepare black cod with miso.
Once on board, QA’s award-winning cabin crew will serve the main course to all the 22 guests. They will also be served a delicious Ladurée dessert and Valrhona Chocolates before finishing off their sky-high culinary experience.
“As a five star airline, we always want to exceed the expectations to revive unforgettable experience whether it is in the sky, in our premium lounges, in our new state-of-the-art Hamad International Airport but also on the ground,” stressed al-Shawa. “That is why we co-ordinated with Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) because we try to give you a little bit of a taste of what we are trying to do.”
QA and QTA will also bring some of the renowned and multi awarded chefs from around the world to QIFF 2015 such as Massimo Capra from Italy. He will also be joined by Bhatia, Nobu and Qatari chef Aisha al-Tamimi.
Visitors will have the chance to watch them at the Live Cooking Zone. It will have a seating area for 100 guests, LED screens and a live feed area.
The pan-Arab Fatafeat television channel also will participate in the annual event with chefs Daad Abu Jaber and Salma Soliman cooking delicious dishes.
“QIFF has gained such popularity over the six years, and it is very rewarding to see so many visitors, not just from Doha, but from the entire region, enjoy this world-class food festival,” said al-Shawa.
QIFF’s is open on March 24 from 5pm until 10:30pm. From March 25 to 28, activities will run from 1:30pm to 10:30pm.
