On the occasion of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara is hosting the Pink Power event in partnership with the Qatar Cancer Society (QCS). The initiative aims to raise funds for the Qatar Cancer Center and support the wellbeing of the brave women coping with the malady.

To raise awareness of the systemic disease, the Resort is organizing a Human Pink Chain on the island, where staff volunteers will take part, while Azraq Restaurant’s ‘Pink Brunch’ aims to raise funds to support Breast Cancer patients by making a special donation to QCS for every Pink Friday Brunch throughout October.

As part of the initiative, Banana Island Doha by Anantara is also inviting women of all ages to its Balance Wellness Centre, where they can take a proactive approach to disease prevention by embarking on specialist journeys to detoxify, rejuvenate and regain their radiance and wellbeing.

Commenting on the occasion, Thomas Fehlbier Area General Manager for Qatar, said:

“At Banana Island Resort, we are truly keen on raising awareness about important health and wellness issues that affect lives in our society, and we are equally determined to do everything we can to bring about positive change in the community and be a part of the solution to ensure the welfare and wellbeing of every one of its members. That’s what our ‘Pink Power’ initiative aims to accomplish with the help of our guests, visitors and partners.”

He added: “Through this multi-part event, we are not only honoring the courageous women who are conquering the challenges of coping with Breast Cancer each and every day, but we’re also making a concerted effort, with QCS and the help of our guests, to make a positive contribution that aids them in their fight against the malady. More so, we are shedding light on the importance of women looking after their health, in order to protect themselves against life-altering illnesses and lead happy, healthy and productive lives.”
