So I was reading an article comparing the network rates and how Qtel just went out and said they were cheaper.

Personally, I have both a Qtel sim and a VF sim. I never switched over to a shahry plan because I make most of my calls internationally and after doing the math, I'd be spending more rather than saving (by around 15QR), I digress.

The thing that got to me was that if anyone was going to do a comparison, then it ought to be an un-biased source right?

So we put together this quick comparison using VF and Qtel's OWN numbers and basically put their plans to the test in REAL life situations.

Looks like we've got a winner.

this is so true! I'm keeping my VF sim! If only qtel will have free FB or even ILQ advantage, I might stick to qtel.lol

I'll stick to Qtel because their signal range is better. Anyone do a comparison for Virgin's price plans? They have an advantage because they will be on Qtel's strong network over Vodafone.

virgin is just another hala in the making. VF still has a long way to go but they have done a lot of improvements over the months, I'd still like them to come out with those Iphone phoen plans like they have in US...to hell with long term catches...as long as i can use the phone TODAY

I don't know if it's just me. Whenever I try calling up vodafone numbers, they seem to be out of the service area a lot. If vodafone was to improve their signal strength and range, I would think about switching over. Virgin being another hala doesn't sound that bad to me, if the customer service is better than Q-tel's.

I'm still a Q-tel hala fan for the past 10 years without any complaints. until VF gives me a really good reason to make a switch or have two phones i'm sticking with Q-tel.

Virgin IS qtel. It's not another network. It's just Hala repackaged.

It's all qtel but under disguise.

@smoke, price plans with subsidies are illegal in Qatar. Neither qtel or vodafone can do that.


I think vodafone has loads of reasons.

10dhs per SMS,
39dhs for local call
Video calls are super cheap
Loads of free Vf minutes
When you have an account there is no service fee like qtel.

If you have shahryb300 you pay 300 but don't get 300 qr of credit like vodafone gives you.
