The Labour Ministry has referred more than 150 complaints from workers to the court. The Ministry received a little over 1,500 complaints from some 3,054 workers between January and June this year and resolved 39 percent of them amicably.

Some 43 percent of the complaints could not be processed because they do not fall within the purview of the ministry, while 11 percent were referred to the court.

Five percent of the complaints are under study.

Most of the complaints, according to Al Sharq, are from workers in the construction sector, followed by trading and vehicle repair maintenance companies.
