About the event

MV Logos Hope, the world’s largest floating book fair, will return to Doha next month as she travels through the Arab Peninsula.

Having previously visited in 2011, Logos Hope welcomed over 44,000 visitors up the gangway.

“I’m really looking forward to going back to Qatar, especially the souqs” said the ship’s hotel services manager Alexis Greene (Bahamas), “people are so hospitable and friendly.” For the past 21 months, Logos Hope has been sailing around East Asia. Recently, Logos Hope visited Muscat and crew members are eager to learn more of the culture and diversity in the Arab Peninsula.

The book fair on board the ship offers an expanded selection of over 5,000 books at affordable prices. They cover a range of subjects including science, sports, hobbies, cookery, the arts, medicine, dictionaries, languages, and philosophy.

With children’s titles, academic texts, dictionaries, atlases and more, the book fair is something the whole family can enjoy. Additionally, the rest of the fully air conditioned Visitor Experience Deck is also open for the public to explore. From the Welcome Area, which introduces the new vessel through a short movie and interactive displays, to the International Café, which has ice cream, drinks and snacks for sale, there is sure to be something for everyone.

Logos Hope is operated by GBA Ships eV, an international, charitable organisation registered in Germany. Since 1970 the organisation has welcomed over 42 million visitors up the gangways in over 150 countries and territories around the world.

Logos Hope will be open at Doha, berth number eight of Doha Port from October 11 to October 20. Opening hours on Tuesday to Monday will be between 2pm to 10pm, and Wednesday is ladies morning from 9am to 12pm. And in afternoon it will open again for everyone.

Entrance fee is QR2 and free entrance for children under 16 but must be accompanied by an adult.
