Need to information about the currency, exchange rates, and customary tipping? Here you go!

Tipping:
It is not a rule to tip although many people do tip. Many restaurants already charge a 12% service charge to your meal, however not all do. Depending on the place I go to and the level of service, I would generally give 5 Qatari Riyals.

Finding Money:
If you find money and cannot find the owner and have attempted to return it, Qatar has a nice tradition, if you donate 25% to charity, you can keep the rest :)

The Currency:
The Notes are called Riyals and the coins are called Dirhams. Yes, currency comes in a rainbow of colours ^_^y

The notes come in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, and 500
The coins come in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 25, 50

Do you need to convert your currency? Here you go! Use this converter.
